End Effectors

The interchangeable End Effectors (EEs) serve as the hands and tools of Ranger. Both the left and right dexterous arms have the ability to operate with a variety of End Effectors. As Ranger works on tasks in space or underwater, it uses end effectors to interact with its environment. These end effectors attach to the end of the arm via Interchangeable End Effector Mechanisms (IEEMs). For scale on the pictures below, the diameter of the IEEM at the base of each of these EEs is 2.75 inches. The table below links to each of the EEs and to the planned on-orbit tasks.
